Adelaide Is Where The Nightmare Will Finally Come To An End For Indian Fans!

Asian teams playing cricket overseas have always struggled to win matches. If they ever win a series then it’s like creating history.

Here’s a small comparison between two credible Asian teams performances both playing overseas. Both have lost the series. One was playing a 5 match ODI series against mighty South Africa and the other is playing a 4 match test series against Australia.

The significant difference is although the team playing against South Africa lost the series; they fought back and fought hard. They won hearts and for sure least salvaged some pride.

The other team simply didn’t have the spine to even put up a fight and got clobbered throughout the series and sadly don’t seem to understand what pride means.

No points for guessing who the brave heart is and who the lame is amongst the two. It’s Sri Lanka and India respectively.

Sri Lanka Played fantastic cricket having lost the series 3-0, they were almost written off. But then they proved they are not a lame team. If it was not for the rain interrupted 3rd match which South Africa won by 4 runs by virtue of Duckworth-Lewis method, they would have won the series for sure. Luck was not with them. But they sure didn’t lose heart and came back strongly in the last two matches and the series ended with a 3-2 win for South Africa.

India on the other hand had already lost the test series 3-0. It was widely expected that India will surely put in their best and come back strongly in the 4th test and may be even win it to reclaim some pride. There were talks that Indian team might drop few seniors who have completely failed throughout the series and may give a chance for few younger talents in the 4th test at Adelaide. Nothing of that sort happened. Except for Dhoni being forced to sit out and being replaced by Wriddhiman Saha, as he is serving a one match ban and Ashwin back in the side in place of Vinay Kumar. The team remained unchanged.

The team composition remained unchanged and so does the results anticipated from the match. At of day 2 India were struggling at 61/2. Gautam Gambhir 30(56) and Sachin Tendulkar 12(43) still at the crease at end of days play. Australia seems to have found a new punching bag in India. In the 1st innings they have put up a total of 604/7 (Dec.) with fantastic double centuries from Ricky Ponting 221 run(s) off 404ball(s) and Michael Clarke 210 run(s) off 275 ball(s).

Ponting who was struggling with his form until India arrived for the test series has now regained his lost form and has now said that he has absolutely no thoughts of retirement. So what are we messiah to cricketers who have lost confidence and form.

Virender Sehwag the stand-in captain had said Indian openers have failed to deliver in the series before the match began. The openers failed again today. Not to miss the point Sehwag is one of our opening batsman and he was out at 30(56). The wall surely has started to crumble and guess there is a big hole in it already. Dravid was bowled again in the series; he was out for 1 run scored off 9 ball(s). Sure if India intends to even draw the match there may be 3 more days to go in the test match and they still have 8 wickets in hand in the 1st innings  and a 2nd innings to be played. However with their performance so far in this series it will not be a surprise if they lose again and Australia win the series 4-0, a clean whitewash.

srilanka they always struggle in this type of condtions yes they perform well in the last 2 ODI but still India will have a upper hand over them
